Drawing by Dolly, and Cinder On Sunday morning, Mum took me, baby Dolly, and Ching Ching to the Elder park.  It's spring time, and it was sunny, but a bit breezy,   Baby Dolly sat in the pram. On the way to the park, we saw a lot's of colourful flowers. I asked mum if I  could pick one. Mum said, "if you pick up the flower, it would die."  Then we went home.  On the way home we saw a lady  push ing her baby walking on Ching Ching's head, her baby was shaking a rattle, and kicking her feet. School trip to the Derby Theatre to watch a performance of Wind in the Willows presented by Derby Live. This is not a curriculum visit, and the cost of the visit is £12 which includes theatre ticket, transport and insurance. This kind of trips requires a Derby City Education Service Consent form which must be completed. I can never remember my GP's name and telephone number, every time I have to search in Google.

St George's day, My daughter made a red cross flag in school. She can tell me how St. George fought dragons. In her version, St George didn't fight and kill the dragon, he just stood there, smiling (she made a smiling face to mimic the imaginary St George's smile, a little bit ugly though), and staring the dragon, then the dragon  just ran away, it didn't die.

"Wear something red" (a rose?) to to celebrate Day of Love! Girls and boys in the nursery last year made Valentine cards for their Dads and Mums respectively, and I received my "special card" from my daughter, no card for her Mum. There will be Valentine Disco for all school children from Reception this year. The party for Reception/ Year 1/Year 2 starts at 4.30, and last for one hour. Tickets £1 on sale from Monday 1st February, Drinks and snacks on sale at the Disco.

[With icy weather gripping Derbyshire, many schools are closed.] Dear parents, We have received reports throughout today informing us that the weather is deteriorating throughout both the city and county. It is my priority to keep the school open whenever possible. However, as some of our teachers live a considerable distance from the school it may not be possible for them to travel to work safely due to the weather conditions in their area. I have asked staff to contact me, if they are unable to get to work, by 7:00 am each morning during this period of bad weather. This will enable me to find out early if we have enough teachers to open school. If the decision is made to close school I will inform both RAM FM and Radio Derby and ask them to broadcast a closure announcement. Dear Parents, On Thursday 17th December we will be having a Christmas party. Santa will be visiting and we will be having some party jbod and drink. So that we get a good selection please can you bring 1 packet biscuits . If you have any problems please let us know. We will be getting dressed up in our party clothes in the afternoon so please bring in some clothes in a bag with your child's name on. Christmas again! Brenda HAVE A ROLE in nativity play. She is going to be soldier: Brenda, you are going to be Soldier 2 You have these lines to learn Soldier 1: Wake up, wake up! Soldier 2 You have to go to Bethlehem to be counted. Narrator Soon, they came to Mary's house. Soldier 1 Wake up, wake up! Narrator Mary's husband, Joseph, opened the door Soldier 2 You have to go to Bethlehem to be counted. Isn't this role better than a STAR or ROCK? As a Chinese, and not a Christian,  we are not use to this kind of  school play, we can opt out Christian education for my child, though. We are not serious with any religion, and don't want her miss all those school fun.

Dear Parent, I am pleased to inform you that your child has been chosen to receive a Golden Star of the Week certificate will be given out in our next Celebration Assembly on WEDNESDAY 18th NOVEMBER, 2009 We would like to invite you to attend the assembly to watch the certificate being presented to your child. Assemblies start at 9.05a.m prompt in the INFANT HALL. The certificate is always kept as a surprise for the child and we hope you will assist us in keeping it a secret until Wednesday. THE LOCAL AUTHORITY HAVE INFORMED US OF HALF-TERM ROALD DAHL ACTIVITIES AT DERBY CITY LIBRARIES. To celebrate trie film release of Roald Dahl's ' Fantastic Mr Fox ' at local cinemas from 23 October, libraries across the city will be running free, fun, Roald Dahl-themed activity sessions during the schools' half-term holiday. Activities include quizzes, crafts and Roald Dahl story extracts and 'revolting rhymes'. All sessions are suitable for children aged from six to 12 years. Children can also enter a 'Fantastic Mr Fox' word search competition to win free tickets to see the film at the Odeon Cinema at the Meteor Centre . All correct word searches will be entered into a free prize draw and there is one prize draw at every library in Derby; each with a prize of two cinema tickets. You can bring you sandwiches to school, or eat school dinner. You have to hand in school dinner money on Monday morning of each week. But if you don't, the dinner laddy won't let your child be hungry, they give your child lunch, but you may be in debts. It is reported in local Telegraph that one headteacher threatened to call in sheriff to recover unpaid debts for school dinner and other expenses, such as school strips. My daughter wishes she can eat school dinner in the large dinner hall instead of in her classroom, because school dinner has ice cream, she says. Then I found out that she just doesn't like tomato or cucumber in her sandwiches. But my wife says Schoool Meals are very expensive, and how we wish we can apply free school meals, because only parents in receipt of benefits can apply for Free School Meals.
