HEPI  is short for the Higher Education Policy Institute. It is a UK-wide, independent organisation funded by universities. Its news and reports are in-depth and data-driven. If you have times to digest articles and reports properly, HEPI is a good source of info. You can follow it on Twitter  @HEPI_news Media FHE  provides news in the UK HE and FE sector. Its HEi-know daily and weekly newsletters are very useful one-stop-shop for briefing reports, news and events.  You need to be a registered HEi-know user to access briefing reports, stories and other information and services. International News

Most of us are quite lazy when it comes to the news. There are 24 hour news channels like the BBC and SKY news; surely they must cover all of the issues? If you thought so then you are in for a rude shock. Although these news channels claim to be international you will generally only hear what is going on in the UK. Sure there is news from the US and very major events are covered but they make the decision as to what is major and what is not. There is a major skew in terms of focus to the US, leaving only time for bad news from the Middle East and nothing from the east or South America. The only time you will hear about Africa is during the (depressing) charity commercials in-between.  I became bored with this paltry offering and looked further afield. The first and easiest options are to look a few channels over at say Russia Today which has a strong US focus but in the negative skew. They also cover other world news with more breadth and depth.
